Cushioning / Neutral

These shoes are for neutral runners or supinators. Runners requiring cushioned shoes often run on their toes and have a high fixed arch. These running shoes are built on curved or semi-curved lasts to encourage foot motion. They provide little stability but are softer under foot and more cushioned.

Structured Cushioning

Suitable for mild pronators. 70% of all runners require a support shoe. Mild pronation is largely considered normal and these shoes are usually best for runners with a 'regular' foot plant. Support shoes usually combine good cushioning technology with lightweight support characteristics on the medial (inner) side of the shoe in order to limit excessive inward rolling of the foot.

Stability

Recommended for runners who need medial (arch-side) support and good midsole cushioning. These shoes are best suited for runners who are mild to moderate overpronators and/or need added support and durability

Maximum Support

70% of all runners require a support shoe. Mild pronation is largely considered normal and these shoes are usually best for runners with a 'regular' foot plant. Support shoes usually combine good cushioning technology with lightweight support characteristics on the medial (inner) side of the shoe in order to limit excessive inward rolling of the foot.

Performance

These lightweight, streamlined and responsive shoes are ideal for race running. They are usually cushioned but provide little support and are not as durable as training shoes.

Trail / Off Road

Off road, grip is everything - traction is king - you need lugs - the more and the deeper the better. Off road shoes are usually very responsive (lower to the ground) to protect against the uneven terrain. They are less cushioned than road shoes as off road terrain cushions the foot naturally.

Track / Spikes

These lightweight, streamlined and responsive shoes are ideal for race running. They are usually cushioned but provide little support and are not as durable as training shoes.
